The Message (The Mess) Bible Perversion

I. "The Message" is the vilest of the vile when it comes to Bible perversions.

II. The Mess on fornication. (1Co 6:18)

1. KJV- "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."

2. Fornication - Voluntary sexual intercourse between a man (in restricted use, an unmarried man) and an unmarried woman. In Scripture extended to adultery.

3. MSG - "There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.”"

4. The Mess doesn't even condemn sex outside of marriage, but merely says that we must not pursue sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, which means that as long as two fornicators are committed to each other, then they are not sinning.

III. The Mess on sodomy. (Rom 1:26-27)

1. KJV - "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

2. MSG - "Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn’t know how to be human either—women didn’t know how to be women, men didn’t know how to be men. Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men—all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches."

3. The Mess leaves the door open for sodomy if it would only be done with love and not lust.

IV. You wouldn't want to read The Mess your kids.

1. 1Sa 20:30

A. KJV - Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own confusion, and unto the confusion of thy mother's nakedness?

B. MSG - "Saul exploded in anger at Jonathan: “You son of a slut! Don’t you think I know that you’re in cahoots with the son of Jesse, disgracing both you and your mother?"

2. Jer 18:13

A. KJV - "Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing."

B. MSG - "Ask around. Survey the godless nations. Has anyone heard the likes of this? Virgin Israel has become a slut!"

V. The Mess is a New Age version.

1. Rev 22:5

A. KJV - " And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

B. MSG - "Never again will there be any night. No one will need lamplight or sunlight. The shining of God, the Master, is all the light anyone needs. And they will rule with him age after age after age."

2. Mat 6:9-10

A. KJV - " After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

B. MSG - " With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best— as above, so below."

C. "A popular New Age, Oneness-Pantheistic, teaching says, "as above, so below." New Age Journal published a book titled As Above, So Below. The Introduction says, "'As above, so below’ means that the two worlds are instantaneously seen to be one when we realize our essential unity with God. . . .
